Historic Centre of Oporto

Nested in Northern Portugal is one of the most beautiful cities I've ever been to: Porto, Portugal.

Porto is one of the oldest cities in Europe, dating back to Roman times. It's name means port, and this city is where Portugal takes its name from.
The site encompasses many different buildings and structures throughout the city. The city is the second largest in Portugal and is still today a major port. Nevertheless, modern day technologies are able to blend in perfectly with tradition into a beautiful panorama of color, taste, and sounds.
Porto is the place where the famous Porto Wine is produced. Porto Wine is known for its sweet taste, making it ideal as a dessert wine.

Despite the economic crisis currently affecting Portugal, Porto has retained economic vibrance and continues to attract people from all over the world. Many people in Portugal considered Porto to be more representative of their culture than Lisbon or any other city.

The Porto Cathedral is one of the oldest buildings in Portugal and is a great example of Romanesque architecture. It was built in the early 1100s and was completed in the 1300s.
